World Alzheimer Report 2013

On 20 September 2013, ADI is going to launch the World Alzheimer Report 2013, themed this year around long term care. As the world population ages, the traditional system of “informal” care by family, friends, and community alone will not be sustainable. The report will be providing information about this important issue, aiding all stakeholders in the long journey of dementia care.  Addressing the issue of increased care needs for people with dementia and their caregivers, the report will include information on the cost and effectiveness of care and make important recommendations which should be the fundamental drivers of long term care policy in dementia.

The September 20 launch is one day before World Alzheimer’s Day the highlight of September which is World Alzheimer’s Month.
